SWEET AND STICKY BEEF TRIMS

Ingredients
1 | 1 KG - AGED ANGUS BONELESS STEAK TRIMS |
2 | 1/3 CUP - SOY SAUCE |
3 | 1/2 CUP - WATER |
4 | 1/2 CUP - BROWN SUGAR |
5 | 2 PIECES - GARLIC CLOVES (MINCED) |
6 | 3 TBSP - CORNSTARCH |
7 | 1/2 TSP - SESAME OIL |
8 | 2 TBSP - SCALLIONS (CHOPPED) |
9 | COOKED RICE |

Steps
1 | Heat the sesame oil in a medium pan over medium heat. |
2 | Once hot, add the garlic and cook for about 1 minute making sure it doesn't burn. |
3 | Add the soy sauce, water and brown sugar and stir constantly. Cook on high heat and let simmer for 5 minutes, then set aside. |
4 | Meanwhile, toss the steak trims in a bowl with the cornstarch. |
5 | In a separate skillet, heat some oil over medium high heat and sear the steak trims until a brown crust is formed. |
6 | Add the soy mixture and continue to cook, stirring frequently for about 5-7 minutes. The sauce should reduce and thicken. |
7 | Once the sauce is thickened to your liking, turn off the heat and garnish with green onions. Serve over rice. |
