BEEF PARES
A classic Filipino dish and a diner favorite.

Ingredients
| 1 | 2 KG - BEEF CUBES |
| 2 | 1 MEDIUM - ONION (CHOPPED) |
| 3 | 4 PIECES - STAR ANISE |
| 4 | 1 CUP - SOY SAUCE |
| 5 | 1 TBSP - GINGER (GRATED) |
| 6 | 5 PIECES - GARLIC CLOVES (CRUSHED) |
| 7 | 2 1/2 - CUPS WATER |
| 8 | 3 TBSP - BROWN SUGAR |
| 9 | GARLIC RICE |
| 10 | TO TASTE - SALT & PEPPER |
Steps
| 1 | Preheat a medium saucepan with some oil and saute onions, ginger and garlic. |
| 2 | Add the beef once onions softened, and let cook until it turns light brown. |
| 3 | Pour in soy sauce, water and star anise and let simmer for 45 minutes on low heat or until the beef is tender. |
| 4 | After the beef tenderizes, season with sugar, salt and pepper and let reduce for another 15 minutes or until sauce thickens. |
| 5 | Serve with garlic rice. |
