11 | 2 - ONIONS (SLICED INTO RINGS) (RED OR WHITE) |
Steps
1 | Preheat a large saute pan on high heat. |
2 | Slice the beef into smaller pieces and set aside. |
3 | Saute the spring onions and onion rings until it has sweat then add your sliced beef. Add sake, mirin and soy sauce and sugar. Reduce the heat and let cook for 5 minutes. Season with salt and pepper. |
4 | Pour the beaten whole egg over your beef and let cook. |
5 | Serve over a bowl of cooked rice, garnish with sesame seeds if desired. |
Tips
1 | Be sure to keep in mind that under-cooking will not develop the flavor enough and make the onions taste sharp. Overcooking turns the onions too soft and the flavor too strong. Keep it just right. |
